PennDOT Reopens Knox Covered Bridge (Yellow Springs Road) in Valley Forge National Historical Park

PennDOT ReopensKnox Covered Bridge (Yellow Springs Road) in Valley Forge National Historical Park

King of Prussia, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Knox Covered Bridge over Valley Creek has reopened following repairs from tree damage in Valley Forge National Historical Park, Tredyffrin Township, Chester County.

Built in 1865, the covered steel stringer bridge is 55-feet-long, 12-feet-wide, and carries approximately 1,604 vehicles per day.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
