Nominations Accepted for Good Neighbor of the Year

Does your neighbor go above and beyond to help fellow neighbors with major projects or simple chores?

Neighbors who show up and pitch in regularly - without seeking recognition for their service - are likely candidates for the annual Diana Conn Good Neighbor of the Year Award.

The City of Knoxville Office of Neighborhood Empowerment is currently accepting nominations for the next recipient, who will be honored at the Neighborhood Awards Dinner in March 2025. The deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2024.

Since its inception in 2013 to honor the late Diana Conn, the award has been given to 11 residents whose contributions to their neighborhoods include:

- Cheerful assistance with neighborhood activities;
- Production of creative and inclusive events that engage neighbors of all ages;
- Initiation and regular maintenance of neighborhood gardens and beautification projects;
- Caring and thoughtful leadership on neighborhood issues.

More information and nomination forms are posted at KnoxvilleTN.gov/Neighborhoods. Neighbors with questions about nominations or the process can reach out to Shannett Riley at [email protected] or 865-215-3232.
