TECHNATION Recommendations for the 2025 Pre-Budget Consultations

TECHNATION was pleased to submit recommendations to the Standing Committee on Finance for the Pre-Budget Consultations in Advance of the Upcoming Federal Budget 2025. As Canada's leading technology association, TECHNATION's recommendation focused on two areas affecting our members the most:

1. We urge Canada's AI Secretariat to develop a Pan-Canadian AI Industrial Strategy, including developing a cohesive and coordinated approach to Government of Canada AI policies, coupled with investment in AI commercialization and AI Sectoral approach to adoption.
2. Modernize Public Sector Procurement to increase the accountability and transparency of technology procurement and the equitable access and participation of Canadian innovators in technology procurement, which will drive growth and innovation.

We look forward to working with the Government of Canada, our members, and Canada's tech sector to collaborate and co-create new policies to ensure Canada's economic growth and resilience.
