WASHINGTON, D.C. - On Thursday, Representatives Chip Roy (TX-21) and Guy Reschenthaler (PA-14) led a group of 25 lawmakers demanding the end of the Biden-Harris administration's unlawful parole process for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans (CHNV).
The unlawful parole program admits up to 30,000 inadmissible aliens each month into the United States from those four countries. Over half a million aliens have entered through the CHNV program.
The lawmakers wrote in the letter, "We call on the administration to end the unlawful, fraud-filled CHNV program and curtail TPS and other immigration relief provided to aliens paroled through CHNV. Without doing so, the Biden-Harris Administration's immigration policies will continue to place significant burdens on communities across our nation…"
The congressmen said that 25 governors have indicated the administration has"failed to communicate arrival times, duration of residency, legal status, and locations of CHNV parolees while also creating 'considerable confusion and alarm among local officials and the general public.'"
"While the United States faces an unprecedented crisis, created by the Biden-Harris Administration, at our southern border, nearly 530,000 inadmissible aliens have entered the U.S. through the CHNV program since January 2023 alone. This decision has placed significant financial stress and burdens on communities across the United States, including Charleroi, Pennsylvania; Springfield, Ohio; and Logansport, Indiana,"the lawmakers said.
Co-signers of the letter include Representatives Nancy Mace (SC-1), Robert Aderholt (AL-4), John Joyce (PA 13), Ralph Norman (SC-5), Claudia Tenney (NY-24), Troy Nehls (TX-22), Andy Harris (MD-1), Jeff Duncan (SC-3), Andy Ogles (TN-5), Randy Weber (TX-14), Keith Self (TX-3), Matt Rosendale (MT-2), Scott Franklin (FL-18), Brian Babin (TX-36), Paul Gosar (AZ-9), Mike Kelly (PA-16), Michael Cloud (TX-27), Dan Meuser (PA-9), Andy Biggs (AZ-5), GT Thompson (PA-15), Lance Gooden (TX-5), Jodey Arrington (TX-19), Roger Williams (TX-25), Barry Moore (AL-2), and Jerry Carl (AL-1).
