Do electronic Instructions for Use aid healthcare staff for patient testing?

Posted on 04.07.2024

In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, patient safety remains a top priority. To ensure optimal care and minimise errors, healthcare professionals working with near patient testing (such as tests done by a pharmacist, ambulance staff, nurses in a hospital room, glucose meter testing etc.) are increasingly turning to electronic Instructions for Use (eIFU) for better accessibility, clarity, and real-time updates. It is therefore imperative to better understand the value of eIFU for near-patient testing.

In response to the growing interest in eIFU, MedTech Europe is collecting experience from the European healthcare professionals on their experience with eIFUs for near-patient testing devices. The healthcare professionals are the ones who are doing near-patient testing on the field, and they are the only ones who can provide the right insights into the practical use of the eIFUs.

You can help collect this experience. Please, share the MedTech Europe survey on eIFUs for near-patient testing with any medical doctors, physicians, nursing staff, operators, pharmacy staff, emergency room staff, or ambulance staff you know.
