The Toledo softball team achieved academic excellence during the 2023-24 school year, earning a 3.704 team GPA that ranks 13th among all NCAA Division I programs recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, the NFCA announced this week. The NFCA recognizes the academic accomplishment of teams and individuals across the association's membership categories.

Toledo is consistently among the top programs in the country academically. Last year, Toledo posted a 3.732 GPA that ranked sixth in the country.

Additionally, 16 Rockets were named NFCA Scholar-Athletes for their academic accomplishments this past year. Lexi Eckman, Lauren Erickson, Madison Mikulski and Leah Tipple all earned Scholar-Athlete recognition for a fourth-straight season, while Sidney Griffith, Riley Mohr and Kendra VanderLugt were honored for a third-consecutive year.

"The young women in our program have really embraced what it means to strive for excellence," said Head Coach Jessica Bracamonte. "Their academic performance this past season is just one example of their commitment to putting their best foot forward in everything they do. I am incredibly proud of them individually and as a team for another successful year in the classroom."
