IE6000: AI-empowered Label Inspection with 6-Camera System for Maximum Precision

The innovative IE6000 machine is the ideal solution for companies in the beverage sector, especially those working with mixed-shape bottles-rectangular, square, round, and oval without orientation. The IE 6000 ensures precise label control, even on bottles with a circular neck but a rectangular body, such as those used in the liquor industry. Perfect for mixed production lines where maximum flexibility and reliable inspection of every single bottle are required, as it allows inspection of bottles of different shapes in a single machine.

This solution is particularly suitable for:

  • Spirits producers: where attention to detail is crucial, including control of embossing, label positioning, and label or code defects. Bottles with unique shapes often require greater accuracy during inspection.
  • Wineries: to inspect labels on standard or non-standard design bottles and ensure perfect aesthetic alignment.
  • Food & Beverage companies: that need to handle bottles of various shapes with maximum efficiency.

Key Innovations for a Competitive Edge in Label Inspection

The IE6000 integrates two important innovations for label inspection: the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and a 6-camera system.

AI Integration

AI represents a major leap in the process. Through automatic training, the machine performs 3D reconstruction of the bottle format without requiring manual operator intervention, significantly reducing setup time. This feature improves operational efficiency and ensures quick adaptation to format changes. Additionally, AI is used to accurately identify the presence and position of embossing, ensuring that the label or any other element is correctly aligned with it, without the need for operator configuration.

6-Camera Innovation

The 6 cameras of the IE6000 ensure a complete and accurate inspection of every part of the bottle, including the most challenging areas, such as rectangular or oval bottles. Images are captured from 6 angles and analyzed to reconstruct the label and inspect any codes or specific areas. For example, for bottles with front and back labels, two cameras can be used, while for round bottles, four cameras are necessary for 3D label reconstruction. For rectangular bottles with a round neck, four cameras are used for the circular part and two cameras for the front and back labels.

This versatility, which allows for the capture of multiple images, helps avoid false rejections caused by light reflections, which are especially common on rectangular or square bottles, and enables the inspection of very differently shaped bottles on the same production line with the same machine.

The intuitive on-line HMI interface allows for clear data visualization, while the compact design makes it highly functional even in production environments with limited space.

Conclusions

The IE6000 stands out for its ability to inspect labels and codes on production lines handling bottles of various shapes, all in one machine. It is particularly suitable for wine and liquor producers, who often work with bottles with complex designs, featuring glass embossing and labels positioned on both the neck and body of the bottle, with highly variable shapes.

The machine ensures precise control of label presence and correct positioning, as well as accurately verifying defects, printing errors, or missing, unreadable, or non-compliant codes. It can inspect a wide variety of formats, including those with front, back, side labels, or neck bands, while also checking for the presence of embossing.

Thanks to the integration of artificial intelligence, the IE 6000 further optimizes efficiency, quickly adapting to new formats without manual intervention, thus reducing setup times. The multi-camera system provides a complete view from different angles, minimizing false rejections and ensuring reliable inspection even in the most complex areas.
