In a recent academic exchange between Ohio State University (OSU) and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) College of Nursing, both institutions have made significant strides in enhancing nursing education and clinical practice. The two-week event, from July 11 to July 22, showcased four key highlights that underscore the importance of global collaboration in nursing.

1. Dynamic Evidence-Based Nursing Workshop:
Four distinguished professors from OSU-Dianne Morrison-Beedy, Stephen McGhee, Randee Masciola, and Cindy Zellefrow-conducted an engaging Evidence-Based Nursing workshop at NYCU. The workshop, attended by graduate students and clinical nurses, focused on the latest advancements in evidence-based practices and their translation into clinical applications. The lively discussions and hands-on approach enriched participants' understanding and fostered a collaborative learning environment.

2. Cross-Institutional Distance Learning:
In an innovative approach to doctoral education, students from OSU and NYCU participated in joint classes and group discussions through a distance learning platform as part of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. This collaborative model has been well-received by students from both institutions, and there are plans to expand this method to other programs within the NYCU College of Nursing. Future collaborations may extend to the Department of Health Innovation at OSU, further enriching the curriculum and research opportunities.

3. Strengthening Nursing Education:
NYCU seeks to enhance its DNP program by integrating best practices from OSU's Nursing Education framework. This collaboration aims to elevate the quality of nursing education at NYCU, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of the healthcare industry.

4. Exploring Trends in Evidence-Based Nursing:
Interviews with participating faculty and students have provided valuable insights into the trends and applications of evidence-based nursing. The discussions and findings from this exchange will be further explored during the upcoming October visit to OSU, to present results at international nursing education conferences and publish them in academic journals.

This exchange activity marks a significant step forward in the ongoing partnership between OSU and NYCU, highlighting the benefits of international collaboration in advancing nursing education and clinical practice.

This exchange between OSU and the NYCU College of Nursing has laid a strong foundation for future collaboration between the two institutions.
