Mosquito Control Spraying Schedule

Corpus Christi, TX-Vector Control continues to reduce and control the mosquito population. During the day, Vector Control applies larvicide in stagnant water areas and sprays for adult mosquitoes in the evening. If the mosquito population remains elevated, the City will continue to revise the spraying schedule.

Vector Control typically sprays at night when traffic conditions are minimal. Vector Control does not spray during inclement weather, elevated wind speeds, or in proximity to individuals who are outdoors.

Below is the schedule from Monday, October 7, to Friday, October 11.

The route schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather conditions and elevated wind speeds. See the Mosquito Spray Route Map below.

Larviciding, the control of mosquito larvae before they become adults, is conducted from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Adulticiding (spraying), the control of adult mosquitoes that are nuisances, is conducted during evening hours from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District recommends following the 5 Ds of Defense:

DEET - If you will be outside - use insect repellent containing DEET

DRESS - Dress in long sleeves and pants when you're outside.

DAWN, DAYTIME, and DUSK-Mosquitoes are most active at dawn, daytime, and dusk. Avoid being outside during these times of the day.

DRAIN - Curb mosquito breeding areas by draining standing water.

DOCTOR - Consult your physician if you feel sick after being bitten.

Please call 311 to report abandoned property, high grass, or standing water.
