ORU Welcomes Its Largest Incoming Class in History

Historic Incoming Class Follows ORU's Record-Breaking Class of 2024

Tulsa, Oklahoma, August 20, 2024- Oral Roberts University (ORU) continues to break enrollment records with the largest incoming class (Fall 2024) in the University's history. This record-breaking class not only represents the largest number of new students ever admitted to ORU but also the largest Move-In Day ever hosted on campus. Over the past five years, ORU has also continued to expand its global reach by enrolling students from over 150 nations and all 50 states.

"We are incredibly excited to welcome this historic incoming class," said Dr. William M. Wilson, President of ORU. "These students bring a diverse range of talent and aspiration to our campus, and we look forward to seeing the remarkable contributions they will make to the ORU community and beyond."

The incoming class represents another milestone in ORU's unprecedented growth, which has broken multiple records this year. In May, ORU celebrated the largest graduating class in the University's history. Last spring, the University grew by 10.5% (compared to the previous year) and experienced a historic retention rate of 93% among returning students.

In this year's class of new residential students, the top 10 states represented are Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Florida, Kansas, California, Illinois, New York, Colorado, and Michigan. Internationally, the top 10 nations represented are India, Brazil, Honduras, Colombia, China, Nigeria, Canada, Bahamas, Kenya, and Rwanda.

With enrollment reaching historic numbers, ORU has expanded while remaining debt-free to further serve its students. Additions to the campus include the new J.D. McKean Library, the ORU Welcome Center, the Mike Carter Athletic Center, and the new Peggy V. Helmerich Media Arts Center, which officially opens this September. These new structures complete Phase I of the Whole Leaders for the Whole World Campaign (WLWW), and the development of Phase II is now underway, which includes funding for student scholarships.

Dr. Wilson also added, "There is still time to enroll at ORU. We are committed to making education affordable and accessible to students from all walks of life and scholarships are available."

ORU extends a warm welcome to all incoming students and their families as they join the ORU community. The University is committed to supporting these students as they strive to reach their full potential and make a lasting impact on the world.
