DCEO Biswal Underscores U.S. Commitment to Supporting Democracy and Economic Prosperity in Armenia

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation DCEO Nisha Biswal traveled to Yerevan, Armenia, from Oct. 22-23 to underscore the U.S. commitment to partnering with the Armenian private sector to create economic opportunity and enduring prosperity.

In Yerevan, she met with government and private sector leaders to affirm the United States' deepening partnership with Armenia. DCEO Biswal also highlighted DFC's growing portfolio of investments in the country. She announced a DFC commitment for a new $50 million loan with Acba bank to expand financing for small businesses in Armenia during a signing ceremony in the country. In DCEO Biswal's remarks at the ceremony, she emphasized the U.S. commitment to supporting Armenia's thriving democracy and robust economy.

DCEO Biswal met with private sector leaders to discuss opportunities for DFC financing in the energy, and information and communications technology sectors and participated in an American Chamber of Commerce roundtable with Armenia entrepreneurs. She also met with Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Minister of Territorial Administration Gnel Sanosyan where she highlighted DFC's commitment to partnering with Armenia to create greater opportunity and enduring prosperity.
