Fargo Cass Public Health (FCPH) is recognizing International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD), which is held annually on August 31. The 2024 theme, "Together we can", highlights the strength of coming together and standing in support of those connected to the tragedy of overdose. IOAD encourages recognition that overdose impacts all members of a community, not just those who use drugs.

In recognition of IOAD on Saturday, August 31, FCPH will share messaging on its social media channels and Fargo City Hall will be illuminated in purple, the color for overdose awareness. Community members are also encouraged to visit the Harm Reduction Center to anonymously access free naloxone and education to respond to opioid overdose. Hours of operation are Monday, 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.; Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; and Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
