The Umpqua Bank Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization of Umpqua Bank, today announced it has awarded 78 grants to local nonprofits across the bank's footprint totaling $456,000. These latest contributions mark the second of three grant cycles slated for the foundation's 2024 Community Grants Program.
"Empowering the outstanding work of nonprofit partners has always been an essential part of Umpqua Bank's commitment to our local communities," said Randy Choy, Vice President of Philanthropy Programs and Managing Director of the Umpqua Bank Charitable Foundation. "We are especially grateful for the work of the nonprofit partners represented in this round of grant recipients. The depth and variety of their programs address some of the most pressing needs in our communities and will help provide financial stability and economic opportunity to those who need it the most."
Since its formation in 2014, the Umpqua Bank Charitable Foundation has invested nearly $19 million across the bank's footprint. Recipients receiving grants this cycle were selected for demonstrating a shared commitment to strengthening under-resourced communities across Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada and Utah.
"Our Community Grants program is one important way we drive lasting impact in our communities," said David Moore Devine, Chief Marketing Officer of Umpqua Bank. "As the bank continues to grow, we are excited to expand our program to communities across the West and partner with exceptional nonprofits that provide meaningful opportunities for under-resourced individuals, families and small businesses to thrive."
