Secretary Thomas Releases Digital Connecticut Voter Guide

(Hartford, CT) - Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas released Connecticut's digital voter guide, a comprehensive information source that contains everything voters need to get vote ready for the upcoming general election on November 5th. Accessible at MyVote.CT.gov, it includes details about the different ways citizens may vote in Connecticut, the candidates on the ballot, information on the ballot question, and more. A direct link to the 2024 Connecticut Voter Guide is available here.

"The voter guide is a 'how-to' manual for voting and election information," said Secretary Thomas. "Whether you have questions about how to vote, where to vote, or who the candidates are, you can now find all that and more in one place."

The nonpartisan voter guide is intended to empower first-time and regular voters to make an informed decision before they vote. It includes an overview of early voting and the absentee voting process, a brief description of each federal and state office up for election, as well as information for every candidate who is confirmed to appear on the general election ballot.

Importantly, the guide also provides a thorough overview of the accessibility options available to those with disabilities or language barriers as well as the Voter's Bill of Rights, so every voter is informed of their rights at the polls and who to contact for any issues.

"Through our outreach work in communities across Connecticut, we have learned voters are often dissuaded from voting because the voting process can be confusing or they do not know where to go for information," said Secretary Thomas. "I am hopeful this guide will make voters feel more empowered and encourage them to vote in this and every election."

The early voting period for the general election is October 21st - November 3rd, with the hours of 10 am - 6 pm each day (except for October 29 and 31, when early voting polling locations are open for the extended hours of 8 am - 8 pm). Early voting locations will be posted on the SOTS website next week. On Election Day, November 5th, polls will be open 6 am - 8 pm. Sample ballots are available here. All election information is available at MyVote.CT.gov.
