Routine flushing of OMU water system to begin October 14

Owensboro Municipal Utilities crews will conduct the utility's semi-annual water line flush for city customers starting Monday, October 14, and ending Friday, October 18. The flushing is expected to take approximately one week.

Crews will work between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. each of those days. They will begin at the northeast end of the city and work south and west.

The crews will open fire hydrants throughout the water system to flush the lines. Customers may experience some cloudiness in their water and should let it run for a few minutes until it clears.
