Booker Statement on the Passing of Rep. Bill Pascrell

NEWARK N.J. - Today, U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) issued the following statement:

"I am deeply saddened to hear the news that my dear friend and colleague, Rep. Bill Pascrell, has passed away. His career in New Jersey politics spanned nearly four decades, and he served the people of our state with an unwavering commitment to bettering their lives every single day. He served New Jersey first in our assembly, and then as the mayor of Paterson, and finally as a congressman. Throughout his entire career, he was a relentless advocate for our state, and his legacy is one of service, integrity, and a love for New Jersey.

"Bill always led with his heart and put the people first. He was a powerful voice in the halls of Congress, one that will be truly missed by all those who knew him. I know I will miss his friendship and mentorship that helped guide me.

"My heart is with his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege to know and work alongside him."
