NOPD Investigating Homicide in Seventh District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide at the intersection of I-10 Service Road and Crowder Boulevard that occurred in the early hours today (July 31, 2024) involving a deceased adult male.

At about 1:23 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of a possible hit-and-run incident at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male at the location. The victim was declared by EMS to be deceased on scene. Upon further investigation, the victim was found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds. At that time, the incident signal was changed to a homicide.

Detectives are in the process of gathering information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident as well as a motive. No additional information is currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and to officially identify the victim. Announcement of this information will come from the Coroner's Office.
