MONDAY, October 14
9:00 a.m. - Colorado Counties Inc. (CCI) Public Lands Member County Meeting
The Board will attend the virtual CCI Public Lands member county meeting to discuss and approve the budget and dues for the upcoming year.

1:00 p.m. - Board of County Commissions (BoCC) Budget Review Work Session
The Board will discuss the 2025 budget for the BoCC cost center.

TUESDAY, October 15
8:30 a.m. - Executive Session
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4), upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the quorum present, the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:

  1. For purposes of the Board receiving legal advice on specific legal questions pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(b). Purpose: Permitted expenditures of County funds based on County authority and Constitutional provisions.
  2. Determining positions relative to matters that may be subject to negotiations; developing strategy for negotiations; and instructing negotiators pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(e). Purpose: Proposed grant contract with the Southern Ute Indian Tribe for grant funding for last mile broadband installation in the Rafter J subdivision and professional service agreement with HomesFund regarding administration of the La Plata County Employer Assisted Housing Program.

10:00 a.m. Planning Agenda Meeting
The Board will consider:

  1. Project #2023-0065. Columbine Base Area Expansion Preliminary Plan
    Expansion/ redevelopment of an existing developed area to include a new 5,625 square foot structure to house ski area operations such as offices and a locker room. 23 Purgatory Blvd., Durango, CO 81301
  2. Project #2024-0061. Fidelity Towers Forest Lakes Monopole Preliminary Plan
    A development application for a 150' telecommunications tower with visible antennas attached to a monopole per land use code section 73-21. TBD CR 502, Bayfield, CO 81122

  1. Approval of a letter of support for Mountain Studies Institute's application for a Colorado State Forest Service Forest Restoration and Wildfire Risk Mitigation grant for capacity funding.
  2. Consideration of Resolution 2024-38 in support of Amendment G - Modify Property Tax Exemption for Veterans with Disabilities.
  3. Consideration of Resolution 2024-39 in support of Amendment K - Modify Constitutional Election Deadlines.

THURSDAY, October 17
3:00 p.m. - Commissioner Church Community Office Hours
Commissioner Clyde Church will hold community office hours at the Marvel Grange on Thursday, October 17th from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. for members of the public to discuss county issues of interest or concern. The Marvel Grange is located at 217 CR 133A.
