The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Southeast Missouri State University is set to launch two rounds of its highly anticipated Early-Stage Business Boot Camp, starting in January 2025. This initiative aims to equip entrepreneurs with the tools and insights needed to transform their business ideas into reality.
The Early-Stage Business Boot Camp helps entrepreneurs look at all aspects of their business, explore the feasibility of a new business venture and learn how to develop a viable business model. The program offers hands-on workshops, collaborative exercises and access to expert advice, ensuring participants leave each session motivated and prepared to tackle the challenges of building a business.
This program was developed by the Missouri SBDC at Missouri State University and is offered in partnership with the SBDC at SEMO. It is powered by Innovate SOMO (Southern Missouri Innovation Network) and led by Codefi and efactory.
Participants will receive ongoing coaching and mentoring to develop a growth plan and financial budget by the end of the program. Guest speakers, including seasoned entrepreneurs and industry leaders will share their real-world experiences and provide practical insights to make the program topics come alive. This eight-session, group-based educational program provides future or early-stage entrepreneurs and small business owners with:
The first Boot Camp Program will take place from January 7 through February 25. The program will meet once a week on Tuesdays from 12:30-2:30 p.m. This program will be hosted at the Catalyst Center for Business in Perryville, MO.
The second Boot Camp Program will take place from February 4 through March 25. They will meet once weekly on Tuesdays from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce in Cape Girardeau, MO.
"We're excited to host the next two early-stage business boot camp classes in 2025," said Jakob Pallesen, director of the SBDC at SEMO. "We had great success with entrepreneurs joining the first two rounds in the fall of 2024, and we can't wait to engage more startups with this program in 2025."
