Women's Basketball Earns WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Ranking

The NJIT women's basketball team was recognized as the 25th ranked team nationally in the Women's Basketball Association (WBCA) Division I Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll for the 2023-24 season, the organization released July 24.

This marks the first time in school history that the team has been featured on the list. The Highlanders posted a GPA of 3.595 and are one of two America East Conference teams represented on the national honor roll.

"I am incredibly proud of this wonderful accomplishment by this very special group of young women," said head coach who is entering his seventh season at the helm of the Highlanders. "The academic rigor is a challenging demand at NJIT, especially so for our STEM majors with the credit load they tackle each semester. To compete and place nationally like this speaks to our program's collective discipline, motivation and work ethic on and off the floor. NJIT Women's Basketball is truly honored to be recognized by the WBCA TOP 25 Honor Roll. Roll Tech!"

Sixteen Highlanders combined for a 3.0 cumulative grade point average or higher in the Spring 2024 while 12 players were named to the Dean's List. Three players - , and all boosted a 4.0 GPA.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2023-24 season is the 29th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
