Investigation Update: Arrest Made in Death Investigation in the area of 17 Hammond Street, Roxbury

Investigation Update: On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, Homicide Detectives arrested Widmaer Lapaix, 27, of North Attleboro, for murder. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the original incident are as follows: About 1:36 AM on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024, Officers assigned to District D-4 (Back Bay/South End) responded to a radio call for Person Shot at 17 Hammond St, Roxbury. Upon arrival, Officers observed the victim sustaining what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
