Notice of Public Test of Voting Machines

Notice is hereby given that a public demonstration will be held in the IT Building across from the Jefferson County Courthouse July 26, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. The optical scanning equipment and ballot marking devices to be used in the Primary Election to be held on August 6th, 2024, will be tested to be certain that the equipment will correctly count the votes cast. The test shall be conducted by processing a pre-audited group of ballots marked as to record a pre-determined number of valid votes submitted and shall include one or more ballots which have votes more than the number allowed by law to test the ability of the optical scanning equipment to reject such votes.
