Temora and District Hospital receives an additional $15,000,000

The Temora and District Hospital project has been announced as one in nine NSW hospitals to receive additional funding from NSW's government. "For the former and current State Governments to allocate collectively $95 Million for our new hospital, including nurses' quarters, is an out of this world investment for our Temora and District Hospital," said Mayor Rick Firman.

The Temora Health Service redevelopment will provide a contemporary health facility with high quality healthcare services. The NSW Government initially committed $80 million to build to support the needs of the Temora community and surrounds. Building is due to commence in 2025.

With the recent announcement of an additional $15 Million for the hospital redevelopment, the outdated nurses' quarters will now be included in the works. Mayor Firman has been a strong advocate in this space, as Chairman of Temora's Local Health Advisory Committee (LHAC) and committee member of NSW Regional Health Ministerial Advisory Panel.

"The benefits of this funding are immeasurable. The fact that our nurses and allied health professionals can be accommodated in modern premises will take pressure of Temora Shire's housing challenges," said Mayor Firman.

"It will also serve as an attraction for staff recruitment and retention." "Council and LHAC have worked hard to lobby for this funding. We cannot thank of Minister Ryan Park, Ms Steph Cooke, and Executive of the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) Mrs Jill enough.
