City Council Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be conducted by the City Council of the City of Bellaire, Texas, on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber, First Floor of City Hall, 7008 South Rice Avenue, Bellaire, Texas 77401-4411, at which time and place any and all persons desiring to be heard will be heard on or in connection with any matter or question involving the proposed ordinance adopting a Municipal Stormwater Drainage Utility System.

The proposed ordinance would amend Chapter 31, Utilities, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Bellaire, Texas, by adding Article V, Stormwater Drainage Utility System; declaring the adoption of the Municipal Drainage Utility Systems Act, Subchapter C of Chapter 552, Texas Local Government Code, and declaring stormwater drainage to be a public utility; establishing a Municipal Stormwater Drainage Utility System; providing for the establishment and calculation of stormwater drainage utility charges and credits; and providing penalties and remedies for nonpayment of charges.
