Delegation of the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence Visits RUC

On April 14, Dr. Zhang Donggang, Chair of the University Council of Renmin University of China (RUC), met with Professor Claudio Rocca, Director of the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence, Italy. The two sides exchanged views on cultural and artistic mutual learning, innovating the China-European inter-university cooperation mechanism, and expanding the global art talent training system.

Zhang Donggang welcomed the visit of Claudio Rocca and his delegation. RUC maintains a good partnership with Italian institutions of higher education. The School of Arts of RUC and the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence have many commonalities, intersections, and complementarities in terms of discipline setting and talent training. Zhang Donggang pointed out that the two universities should seize the opportunity to strengthen cooperation with practical actions, and makes positive contributions to promoting the construction of a community of art civilization and a community with a shared future for mankind.

Claudio Rocca spoke highly of RUC's work on art exchanges and talent development and looked forward to the teachers and students of RUC visiting the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence. He said that art has great power in shaping the human community and is closely related to human beings. Both universities have profound humanities and art heritage and broad cooperation space in art and design. This meeting between the two parties could lay a solid foundation for future cooperation.

After the conversazione, Claudio Rocca visited the university museum and the School of Arts, RUC. Zhang Chun, Dean of the School of Art, RUC, Zhang Xiaomeng, Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs, Liu Mingcai, Deputy Dean of the School of Art, and Qi Yue, Vice Dean of the School of Art, attended the meeting.
