New Allegiant Service to Sarasota

From the Desk of Deputy County Executive Jennifer Furman - Chemung County, NY:

Today, Allegiant Travel Company (Allegiant) announced 44 new nonstop routes across the country. We are excited to share that this includes the addition of new Allegiant direct service from Elmira Corning Regional Airport (ELM) to Sarasota Bradenton International (SRQ), with two weekly flights running on Mondays and Fridays from February 14, 2025, to May 12, 2025.

Allegient is known for offering convenient, affordable air service to premier vacation destinations, and this expansion of service is expected to deliver that to travelers living in the Southern Tier NY and Northern Tier PA regions. During prime winter weather months, travelers can now fly directly from Elmira, NY, to Sarasota, FL.

For Winter 2024/2025, Allegiant has increased flight frequency by 60% over the 2024 schedule and now offers four direct destinations from ELM, including:

• St. Pete / Clearwater / Tampa (PIE)
• Daytona Beach / Sanford / Orlando (SFB)
• Punta Gorda / Ft. Myers (PGD)
• Sarasota / Bradenton (SRQ)

Deputy County Executive Jennifer Furman, "The increased Allegiant service this winter goes a long way toward restoring annual passenger service at ELM to pre-pandemic levels. We are continuously in discussion with Delta and other discount airlines to add new flights, and we are constantly working to ensure that ELM continues to be the dominant airport in the Southern Tier, capturing over 50% of the combined Elmira, Ithaca, and Binghamton markets. ELM is now the only local regional Airport with direct service to FOUR Florida destinations."
