Central Maine Heart & Vascular Institute gets assist from Rumford Eagles

The Rumford Eagles fraternal organization recently made a $1600 donation to Rumford Hospital.

The money was raised during the club's annual Legacy 8-Ball pool tournament fundraiser and will be used specifically for the Central Maine Heart & Vascular Institute (CMHVI).

Although CMHVI is headquartered at Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) in Lewiston, it provides services to the River Valley community, including cardiac testing and evaluation, cardiac rehabilitation and cardiologist consultations.

"Over the years, the Rumford Eagles have been an invaluable community partner," said Stephany Jacques, president of Rumford Hospital. "The money they raised for CMHVI will directly benefit people in the Rumford region by helping to provide top-notch cardiology services that are close to home. On behalf of all of us here at Rumford Hospital, we are very grateful for this generous gift!"

CMHVI offers advanced treatments for all arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. CMHVI was the first in Maine to offer pulsed field ablation, a new technology to treat atrial fibrillation more safely and in less time. CMHVI also started a dedicated hypertension and lipid clinic and a new preventive cardiology program. The vascular surgery team recently performed its 50th TCAR, the latest in minimally invasive procedures to treat carotid disease.
