And just like that it seems, 2024 is half over. June was a jubilant month on campus, with members of the BU community coming together to celebrate Pride Month and honor the Juneteenth holiday. The month also saw the first heat wave of the season-one that broke records-and the arrival on campus of hundreds of members of the Class of 2028 and transfer students for first-year orientation.

Enjoy our favorite moments captured by BU Today photographers during the past month.

What's summer without a game of cornhole? Lawn games, free food, music, and giveaways were part of the All for Pride Festival hosted by BU's LGBTQIA+ Student Resource Center and LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff on the BU Beach June 28. Students, faculty, and staff enjoyed the event celebrating Pride Month.

"Tiny Bubbles"?-maybe not so tiny, but lots of fun. Beautiful summer weather made the All for Love Pride Festival, held on the BU Beach June 28, an enjoyable afternoon for the BU community.

Fagr Maklad (Questrom'25) (left) and Suhera Nuru (Sargent'25) were among those taking in student artwork during the annual Juneteenth BBQ on June 19. The barbecue, hosted by the Dean of Students, was moved from the BU Beach to the GSU Metcalf Ballroom because of the extreme heat.

The air-conditioned GSU provided a welcome relief from June 19's outside 90s.

The sculpture Explosions, by Sergio Castillo, was installed in front of the Metcalf Center for Science & Engineering in 1987. The work, depicting a proton collision, is one of several public art pieces on BU's Charles River Campus.

A free two-day basketball clinic held at the Case Gym June 25 was hosted by Joe Jones, BU men's basketball coach, Government & Community Relations, and Athletics. The clinic drew 30 young people from All Dorchester Sports and the Boston Centers for Youth and Families Tobin Community Center and Ohrenberger Community Center.
