President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador of China to Armenia Fan Yong

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Armenia Fan Yong on the occasion of the completion of the diplomatic mission.

President Khachaturyan thanked the Ambassador for the effective work done during his tenure, which contributed to the continuous development of Armenian-Chinese friendly relations.

"The course of your tenure coincided with a rather difficult period for Armenia, and everything You and the People's Republic of China have done is most appreciated. The relations between Armenia and China and the ties between our peoples have a long history and have been developing dynamically since the establishment of diplomatic relations. China is among the important priorities of the foreign policy of the Republic of Armenia," the President of the Republic said.

Ambassador Fan Yong expressed gratitude for the reception: "I have worked in Armenia for four years, but I am very attached to Armenia. I have personally experienced the friendly attitude of the Armenian people. For four years, we have worked with my Armenian colleagues in various fields and I think we have achieved good results. I thank You and Mr. Pashinyan for supporting my work," the Ambassador noted.

Over the course of the meeting, issues on the agenda for the further development of multi-layered relations between the two countries were discussed. Both sides highly appreciated the upcoming start of direct flights between Armenia and China, which will be a new impetus not only for tourism, but also for the further expansion of trade, economic and business ties.

During the conversation, a reference was made to the general situation and developments in the region. In this context, the President of the Republic noted that Armenia's position is to have neighborly relations with all neighbors based on territorial integrity, sovereignty and international fundamental rights and norms. In this regard, Ambassador Yong emphasized in his speech that China supports all initiatives contributing to the establishment of stable and lasting peace in the region.
