LBPD Blotter - Nov. 1, 2024

Shooting - 300 block of West 14^th Street - On Oct. 31, 2024 at approximately 9:47 p.m., officers responded to a local hospital to contact a 16-year-old male receiving treatment for a gunshot wound. Officers learned that the victim was standing on the sidewalk on the 300 block of West 14^th Street when he heard gunshots and was struck in his upper body. Family transported him to the hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury. Officers located a crime scene. Suspect information and motive remain under investigation.

Shooting - 800 block of Via Wanda - On Oct. 31, 2024, at approximately 11:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of gunshots in the area of the 800 block of Via Wanda. Upon arrival, officers located a crime scene and evidence of a shooting, but they were unable to locate any victim(s) or suspect(s). While officers were investigating the scene, a male adult victim with a gunshot wound self-transported to a local hospital. Officers contacted him and learned that he sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his lower body, and it is believed to have occurred during this shooting incident. Suspect information and motive remain under investigation.

Stabbing - 6900 block of Orcutt Avenue - On Oct. 31, 2024, at approximately 11:17 p.m., officers were dispatched to a stabbing in the 6900 block of Orcutt Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim with stab wounds to his upper body. LBFD responded and transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening wounds. The suspect was gone prior to officers' arrival. The preliminary investigation indicates a male adult suspect, believed to be experiencing homelessness, stabbed the male adult victim, also experiencing homelessness, while he was asleep. The motive remains under investigation.

Shooting - Unknown Location - On Nov. 1, 2024 at approximately 1:53 a.m., officers were dispatched to a local hospital to a contact a female adult victim receiving treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her lower body. The victim reported that she was in the area of Artesia Boulevard and Downey Avenue when she was struck by a gunfire. Officers were unable to locate a crime scene. The location of the shooting, suspect information, and motive remain under investigation.
