Participation at the Annual Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Group of 77 and China

On September 27, 2024, during the High-Level Week of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin participated and addressed the Annual Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Group of 77 and China.

In his statement Minister Muhriddin expressed his views on the challenges faced by developing countries in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and emphasized the need to provide long-term financing to Member States to achieve the 2030 Agenda.

Minister of Foreign Affairs also recalled the initiative of the Founder of Peace and National Unity-Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, to declare 2025 the International Year of Glaciers' Preservation, as well as convening a High-Level International Conference on Glaciers' Preservation in 2025 in Dushanbe.
