Kaukapakapa River Workshop series

Auckland Council's Healthy Waters and Kaukapakapa River Restoration group will host two engaging sessions for landowners and managers in and around Kaukapakapa and Helensville catchments.

These workshops offer practical insights into the natural behaviours of waterways, the impact on our rivers and streams and effective strategies for enhancing flood resilience, retaining land, reducing sediment loss and preserving water quality.

We will be holding two workshops:

Saturday 10 August, 10am-12pm.
This workshop will cover:
- Understanding natural waterway processes.
- Responses of rivers and streams to flooding and flow changes.
- Waterway channel formation and property management considerations.
- Strategies to reduce risk of flood and channel instability.

Saturday 31 August, 10am - 12pm
This workshop will be a hands-on river assessment.
- Conduct a practical river assessment
- Learn to identify flood risk
- Bring appropriate clothing
