The 67-provider Mental Health Cooperative leverages eClinicalWorks 24-hour behavioral health care solution to provide support at various levels of care

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. - December 4, 2024 - eClinicalWorks®, the largest ambulatory cloud EHR, announced that the 67-provider and 41-bed Mental Health Cooperative (MHC) is successfully utilizing eClinicalWorks comprehensive behavioral health module to streamline operations and improve staff satisfaction, practice efficiency and patient care. Following the success of the behavioral health module, eClinicalWorks recently introduced the 24-hour behavioral health care solution that caters to different levels of care, such as detox, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient program (IOP) services.

"The eClinicalWorks 24-hour behavioral health care solution has completely changed our lives; it has made our workflows so much easier and helps our providers deliver a full circle of care," said Megan Isham, senior manager of clinical systems at MHC. "We are a 24-hour inpatient behavioral health unit. We worked closely with eClinicalWorks to provide input on developing the 24-hour behavioral health care solution for better inpatient management. It easily integrates with our systems, supporting interoperability, documentation, and improving staff satisfaction, which helps to improve patient outcomes."

The eClinicalWorks 24-hour behavioral health solution offers a variety of enhancements to facilitate improved patient-centered care, including:

  • Dedicated intake notes to help separate triage, nurse, and provider workflows.
  • Structured screenings offer standardized or customizable scoring and interpretation messages. Once admitted, patients can be assigned a room, bed, or recliner for proper tracking and monitoring.
  • Customizable progress notes to support shift notes, BIRP notes, group visits, and other role-specific formats.
  • Individualized safety and treatment plans or pre-set options.
  • A bed management feature that helps seamlessly manage available and clean beds.
  • Episodic clinical documentation and inpatient billing.
  • As the patient nears discharge, the system aids in creating safety plans, treatment plans, screening forms, and psych notes, ensuring a smooth transition out of care.
  • The system provides the ability to administer medication treatments using eMar.

Mental Health Cooperative offers 24/7 comprehensive and innovative inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and adults. Their vision is to deliver exceptional, comprehensive services that improve health outcomes, remove barriers to care, and foster hope in those served. They offer care in small multidisciplinary teams focusing on the individual client and their needs.

The fully integrated eClinicalWorks outpatient behavioral health module offers practices a time stamp for Discharge, Assessment, and Plan (DAP) notes, third-party screening forms, treatment task tracking, care plan reviews, patient and care team signoffs, and easy management for individual and group visits. The comprehensive solution holistically manages patients' health and wellness, including lifestyle, activities of daily living, and home and community support by capturing patients' behavioral health history.
