Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7400 Bissonnet Street

July 25, 2024- Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7400 Bissonnet Street about 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday (July 24).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer S. Bouarar reported:

The male, a pedestrian, was crossing the street at the above address when he was struck by a Nissan Altima whose driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid.

A family member of the driver later contacted police and reported the crash. The suspect driver, identified as Eric Davis, 55, returned to the crash scene. He was questioned, taken into custody and subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #11.

The investigation is continuing.
