TOArts welcomes new board members ahead of 30th anniversary celebration

TOArts, the nonprofit fundraising and presenting partner of the Bank of America Performing Arts Center at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, proudly announces the addition of two new board members: Karen Davis and Keith Wintermute.

Karen Davis, a resident of the Conejo Valley for over 40 years, brings a wealth of experience as a retired finance executive. Her career includes significant roles at the Ventura County Healthcare Agency and California Lutheran University. Deeply committed to giving back to the community where her children grew up, Karen is enthusiastic about attracting young adults to TOArts events, including stand-up comics and popular 90s artists like Nick Carter, Ginuwine, and Montell Jordan.

"The arts provide a focal point for building a strong community and bringing people together," said Davis. "Being able to attend events locally is a huge asset. I look forward to working with the Board to keep our programming relevant and engaging for all generations."

Keith Wintermute, a longtime Thousand Oaks resident, combines extensive experience in medical administration with a deep passion for the arts in his new role as a TOArts board member. Alongside his professional background, Keith has a rich history as a documentary producer, editor, writer, and rock band musician and promoter. He is dedicated to fostering the arts and ensuring their vibrant presence in our community.

"I'm excited to join the TOArts board and contribute to making the arts accessible to all," said Wintermute. "From inspiring young audiences and supporting the next generation of artists to offering enriching cultural experiences for all ages, the arts can have a profound impact on lives, and it's our mission to see that through."

"We are thrilled to welcome our two new board members during such a momentous year as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza," said Niki Richardson, Associate Director of TOArts. "Their diverse perspectives and experience will be invaluable as we continue to develop and expand our programs to support local artists, and their fresh insights will enrich our community for years to come."

To celebrate this milestone, TOArts is hosting CURTAIN UP!-a mind-bending masquerade ball on October 25, 2024, featuring entertainment by Le Petit Cirque. Proceeds from this event will help ensure the arts continue to thrive in our community for the next 30 years and beyond. Tickets are available now at https://bit.ly/CURTAINUP.
