NOPD SWAT Roll Declared for Suspect in First District Domestic Incident, Investigation Ongoing

The NOPD earlier today (October 15, 2024) initiated a SWAT roll in the 5100 block of Montegut Street in response to a reported barricaded adult male suspect in a domestic incident.

The incident stemmed from an earlier call for service for a domestic disturbance incident that occurred in the First District. At about 7:51 a.m., a female subject reported herself to First District officers to be the victim of the incident.

A short time later, officers received notification that the suspect had relocated to a residence in the 5100 block of Montegut Street and that the suspect was possibly armed. Third District officers responded to the location and attempted to speak with the suspect. When attempts received no response and with information available at the time, officers contacted the Special Operations Division Team to assist. At about 11:35 a.m., a SWAT roll was declared.

Special Operations Division officers utilized tactics to contact the subject, all to no avail. Officers then gained entry into the residence and, through further investigation, determined that the subject was not at the location.

Investigation into this incident remains active and ongoing. No additional information is currently available.

Anyone with additional information that can assist in this investigation is urged to contact NOPD First District detectives at 504-658-6010. Those wishing to report information anonymously can do so by calling Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
