US Department of Labor offers online webinars in August on workplace rights for expectant, new mothers to mark Breastfeeding Awareness month

WHAT: The department will join the EEOC for a series of online webinars on Tuesdays and Thursdays in August as the nation marks Breastfeeding Awareness month. The series begins with an initial review of federal maternal health laws on Thursday, Aug. 1.

In the weeks following, webinars will focus specifically on resources and local laws in eight Southeast states by introducing stakeholders that provide expertise, support and assistance to parents and nursing mothers. These panelists vary by state and include representatives from state Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) offices, milk banks, support groups, lactation consultants and more.

WHEN: Webinars will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to approximately 12 noon EDT, or 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. CDT. The remaining webinars will feature state-specific sessions. The scheduled webinars will offer a panel discussion to review specific breastfeeding resources by state as follows:
