Meeting with the Ambassador of Turkiye to Uzbekistan

On October 8, 2024, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkiye to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar.

During the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on the current situation in Afghanistan and the efforts of the international community, as well as Uzbekistan and Turkey, to expand cooperation in the Afghan direction.

The parties agreed on the need to continue regular bilateral contacts to coordinate efforts in the Afghan direction.

The Ambassador of Turkiye highly appreciated the efforts of Uzbekistan to develop a consolidated regional position on Afghanistan, establish long-term peace and stability in the country, and provide humanitarian aid to the Afghan people.
