Nationwide Children’s Hospital Tops Forbes List of ‘America’s Best Employers for Women’

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) - Nationwide Children's Hospital has ranked first on Forbes' 2024 "America's Best Employers for Women" list.

Nationwide Children's was recognized as number one among 600 companies based on a survey of 150,000 women working for companies with at least 1,000 employees in the United States. The hospital works to support its diverse workforce with benefits such as paid parental leave (available to all employees), fertility support (a medical benefit through health insurance and prescription drug plans), adoption assistance (financial support helping to cover expenses like agency or placement fees, legal and court fees, transportation and lodging), wellness programs, and an onsite child care center that currently serves more than 300 children of our employees.

"Nationwide Children's Hospital was founded by a group of dedicated women volunteers in 1892. Today, 132 years later, the hospital is still being driven forward by amazing women," said Lorina Wise, chief human resources officer at Nationwide Children's. "Women represent 80 of our workforce, 65 percent of management positions and 65 percent of professional positions. We are proud to support the entire staff in our commitment to providing world-class care to families from all walks of life."

Survey respondents were asked to rate employers in areas such as working environment, pay equity and parental leave, and were also asked how likely they were to recommend their current and previous employers, and if they would recommend any employers they knew through their industry or through family or friends.

The complete list can be viewed on the Forbes website.
