The Initial Press Release of a WR2711 ultra-light vehicle of Taiya Aeronautical Association crashes during landing at Wuri activity field, Taichung City

On July 1, 2024, a Taiya Aeronautical Association I.C.P. Savannah S ultra-light vehicle, control number WR2711, took off from the Wuri activity field in Wuri District, Taichung City at about 1136L, carrying 1 operator and 1 occupant. The vehicle crashed into the woods on the north side of runway 13 at 1154L during landing. The vehicle suffered substantial damage and the occupant was injured.

After receiving the notification, the Taiwan Transportation Safety Board (TTSB) immediately dispatched two investigators to the field to collect information. This event was identified by the TTSB as an aviation occurrence in accordance with the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act. The investigation team will continue to collect relevant evidence.
