Miller-Meeks Doubles Down On Opposition to Lower Prescription Drug Costs

After getting slammed last week for her record of voting against lower prescription drug costs while taking nearly $200,000 from the drug industry, Mariannette Miller-Meeks is doubling down.

Miller-Meeks is falsely calling it a "gimmick" that the Inflation Reduction Act lowers the cap for out-of-pocket prescription drugs from $3,300 to $2,000 for Medicare recipients, ignoring the fact that it will save Iowa seniors up to $2,500 per year.

Her latest attack on lower drug costs comes after she was exposed for accepting a check from an insulin manufacturer on the very same day she voted against the Inflation Reduction Act, which caps the cost of insulin at $35 per month.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
"Mariannette Miller-Meeks isn't even trying to hide the fact that she will oppose any effort to lower prescription drug costs in order to protect the profits of her drug industry donors. Iowans can see that Miller-Meeks is beholden to the special interests bankrolling her campaign, and they're ready to elect a leader like Christina Bohannan who will put them first."
