Weekly APA Public Comment Periods Announcement


RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency is accepting public comment on projects currently under review. The public is encouraged to go online to learn more about each public comment opportunity and to submit comments electronically.

At present, the following projects are available for comment at https://apa.ny.gov/Hearings/index.cfm:

• A three-lot subdivision to create two 1.31±-acre building lots and one 9.74±-acre building lot, each with a single-family dwelling, on-site wastewater treatment system and individual water supply well in the Town of Indian Lake, Hamilton County (P2006-0134A).

• Construction of an 11,000 square foot boat storage building and office in Town of Northampton, Fulton County(P2023-0064).

• Amendments to a previously-approved mineral extraction, including: expansion of a residual minerals pile from 73 acres to 88.4 acres in size, lowering of the quarry floor from 1,860 feet above mean sea level (amsl) to 1,790 feet amsl, increasing hours of on-site trucking and mining vehicle operation from 7am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday to 7am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday, increasing off-site trucking trips from 5 per day to 16 per day Monday through Friday and reducing off-site trucking hours from 7am to 10pm to 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday in the Towns of Johnsburg, Warren County, and Indian Lake, Hamilton County (P2021-0245).

• Seasonal tourist accommodation consisting of four cabins on wheels with electric service, one composting toilet/operations shed, and parking for nine vehicles in an existing gravel area in the Town of Essex, Essex County (P2024-0173).

• Installation of an on-site wastewater treatment system within 100 feet of wetlands to serve a new single-family dwelling in the Town of Webb, Herkimer County (P2024-0035).
