REDDING- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans District 2) and Lamassu Utility Services, Inc. are preparing to begin work on the Last Platina Culverts Project on State Route 36 in Shasta County. The $378K project will provide culvert restoration at two locations near Platina, from 1.8 miles east of the Trinity County line to 0.9 mile west of Beegum Creek Bridge.

Construction activities are currently planned to start on Monday, September 23rd. Motorists will encounter one-way traffic control with up to 5-minute delays, Mondays through Fridays between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit reductions in place, and allot extra time for delays. The project is currently anticipated to be completed by mid-October.

Construction projects are subject to changes without prior notice. Caltrans and its contractors do our best to keep the public informed.
