Uzbekistan Independence Day

On behalf of the Government of the United States of America, I send warm wishes to the people of Uzbekistan on September 1 as they celebrate their Independence Day.

For 33 years, the United States has been committed to Uzbekistan's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. On this day, we recognize the success of our strategic partnership and reaffirm the United States' support for Uzbekistan's efforts to promote regional security, expand economic opportunities, strengthen human rights protections, and facilitate people-to-people ties. We applaud Uzbekistan's initiatives to promote regional peace and security and its leadership in addressing the climate crisis through sustainable infrastructure.

The future of the strategic partnership between the United States and Uzbekistan is promising, as we continue to find ways to work together on areas of mutual interest.
