Loeffler Named VP, Chief Pharmacy Officer for Kaleida Health

William Loeffler, PharmD, MBA, has been named vice president, chief pharmacy officer for Kaleida Health.

In his new role, Loeffler will focus on system-level integration of pharmacy services across all of Kaleida Health to ensure the best pharmaceutical care while balancing the increasing cost, complexity and scope of contemporary medication therapies. He will provide strategic, operational and inclusive leadership for all pharmacy services and programs within Kaleida Health and its affiliates.

Loeffler previously served as senior director of pharmacy services for Kaleida Health since May 2023, where he oversaw pharmacy services for all inpatient and outpatient clinics within Kaleida Health. Prior to that, he was director of pharmacy at Buffalo General Medical Center, where he was responsible for the day-to-day distribution of medications, planning and implementation of site procedures for pharmacy dispensing, and managing pharmacy purchasing functions, which includes contract compliance and inventory levels.

Loeffler began his pharmacy career at Buffalo General as a pharmacist in 2008, where he worked on the cardiology and anticoagulation teams and staffed the inpatient pharmacy. In 2014, he was named manager of pharmacy at Buffalo General.

Loeffler received the Yale-New Haven Health Pharmacy Residency Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award (2018), Faculty Member of the Year Award (2012-2013) from D'Youville College School of Pharmacy and the Clinical Educator of the Year Award (2012) from the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, New York chapter. He has written or contributed to a number of publications and serves on a variety of professional organizations.

He received his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his MBA from D'Youville College School of Business.
