Public Statement

Our Town Manager Heather Balser submitted her resignation on November 22, 2024, effective January 3, 2025, due to personal reasons. We are very grateful to Heather for her service to the Town over the last two years and wish her the best.

In light of Heather's resignation, the Select Board reviewed the recent Manager selection process as well as our current organizational structure. We have extended an offer to Bryan Laverriere, the Town's current Assistant Town Manager & Public Services Director, to serve as the Town Manager beginning January 4, 2025. We are very pleased to announce that Bryan has accepted this offer.

Bryan has been employed with the Town since October 30, 2017. He was initially hired as the Public Services Operations Manager and was then promoted to Public Services Director on October 9, 2018. Bryan served as the Interim Town Manager from November 12, 2022, through February 6, 2023, and was appointed as the Assistant Town Manager on September 14, 2023. He has continued to serve as the Town's Public Services Director while serving as the Assistant Town Manager and has worked closely with the Town Manager on every aspect of Town operations.

Bryan has a wealth of experience and knowledge regarding the Town of Kennebunk, our form of government, organization, operations, policies and procedures. The Select Board is confident that this will be a smooth transition and that Bryan will continue to be a valuable resource to the Town. We look forward to working with and supporting Bryan in this role.

We will be taking action today to officially appoint Bryan and authorize his employment agreement. We invite the public to meet Bryan at an informal forum on Saturday, January 4th at a time to be determined.
