The City of Mesquite has named Alberto Rivera as Manager of Economic Development.
Rivera, who has been with the City since 2018, brings several years of experience in sales, strategic partnerships and business development to the role. His areas of expertise include project management, digital marketing and data analysis.
Previously, Rivera served as the Economic Development Coordinator at the City of Mesquite. Before his career in economic development, Rivera also held leadership positions in various retail operations across Utah, managing large teams and overseeing aspects of merchandising, sales and customer satisfaction.
Rivera earned a master's degree from Southern New Hampshire University and a bachelor's degree from Utah Tech University, formerly Dixie State University. Previously hailing from southwestern Utah, he is fluent in English and Spanish.
"Alberto has been a key member of the Economic Development team since 2018," said Director of Economic Development Kim Buttram. "His leadership and knowledge of the community ensures he will seamlessly assume this new role."
As Mesquite's Manager of Economic Development, Rivera will be responsible for developing, managing and implementing programs designed to retain and enable the expansion of businesses and investment.
