PALMDALE, CA - Get rid of electronic clutter at the City's upcoming electronic recycling event on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Palmdale Transportation Center, located at 39000 Clock Tower Plaza Dr.
"This event is a wonderful opportunity for residents to dispose of unwanted electronic items in a safe and environmentally friendly way with minimal effort," said Mayor Austin Bishop. "I highly encourage the community to take advantage of this free service to help keep our beloved City clean and to discourage illegal dumping. Let's make a difference together!"
Palmdale is hosting this event in partnership with Homeboy Recycling to ensure residents can safely dispose of electronic waste, including televisions, computer equipment and components, laptops, mobile and landline phones, tablets, rechargeable batteries, cables and wires, at no cost.
"By recycling your electronics, you are giving your device a second life in a sustainable and ethical manner," said Mayor Pro Tem Richard J. Loa. "Illegally dumping or improperly discarding of electronic waste can significantly harm the environment and make our community unsafe for residents and wildlife who call Palmdale home. Events like these help us keep Palmdale a great place to live, work and play for the next generation."
Palmdale offers additional ways to dispose of electronic waste free of charge, including WM pickups, drop-offs at the Antelope Valley Environmental Collection Center (AVECC) or by calling 1-888-CLEAN-LA for pickup.
