1. Worry no longer about extra food and refreshments

In the past, first-timers visiting Lazarus Island had to bring their own snacks and drinks since there was no shop selling anything there. That's since become a thing of history with Sol by BDC, which opened on Lazarus Island last September.

The place is currently the sole (pun intended) convenience store on the island, replete with food, drinks and other necessities for your brief stay. If your camping trip involves some old-fashioned barbecuing, Sol offers BBQ bundles with fresh dishes and ready-to-eat meals included.

It's a welcoming and well-stocked space, and certainly replenished by owners who know a thing or two about surviving (and thriving) on Lazarus Island in style. Everything you think you'd need, they've got it.

2. Paddle and glide over its glistening waters

If you're looking for more kayaking adventures over new waters, you can find it (and more) at Lazarus Sea Sports Centre.

The recreation hub is a new addition to Lazarus Island, bringing with it a whole new array of activities that are open to the public.

Since launching last August, Lazarus Sea Sports Centre has brought family-friendly water adventures with professional safety and guidance to customers -offering stand-up paddle boats, kayaks, and sea bikes for rent.

In keeping with its inclusive spirit, these activities are suited for families-who can embark on their Triyak, a three-person kayak, for up to two hours-or young adults, who can test their sea legs by riding sea bikes (from S$30), participating in a yoga session out at sea (from S$30), or by banding together on a seven-person stand-up paddle boat (from S$110).

If you're planning your first trip to Lazarus Island, we'd highly recommend the Southern Islands Paddle Trail ($70), which combines a guided walking trail and a paddle ride through the various unique aspects of the island. It's the best way, and the most exciting way, to exploring Lazarus.

Part of the allure of Lazarus Island is its vast and open spaces-and this has especially been a highlight for cycling enthusiasts.

It's not hard to spot a handful of them whenever you take your ferry trip over. It's simply one of the best places in Singapore to pedal through astounding scenery. So it's assuring that Lazarus Island itself is now prepared for your adventures with Gogreen Eco Adventure, a bicycle hub located at the neighbouring St. John's Island with the right gear you'll need for an afternoon ride.

Alongside its selection of bicycles and kick scooters-which are all available to rent-is a retail store that'll sort you out for your picnic needs, be it kites, mats, or tents. Each rental booking is fixed at two hours from S$25-you'll have plenty of time to ride along the pavement and venture into the wilderness. A walking path that connects Lazarus and St. John's will be your ticket to a cycling adventure.

If cycling isn't your thing, try your hand at their kick scooters, which are undoubtedly more robust and user-friendly than the scooters that would trawl through HDB corridors in the past.

Into the Woods is a glamping resort focussed on slow living. For those unfamiliar with the term, glamping provides a more comfortable outdoor experience with pre-pitched tents and basic amenities. Into the Woods delivers this and much more.

Take it from them: They aim to provide "a space for those seeking a slower, more deliberate pace." Isn't that what a getaway should be like?

At the heart of Into the Woods is the Sukha Lodge, a communal space that offers a library of books, a selection of board games, and an environment bathed in complete serenity. On occasion, the lodge is where Into the Woods hosts special workshops and events.

5. Find respite in the famous Lazarus Island tiny house

If glamping is not your style, that's okay: Lazarus Island has regular hotel-style accommodation too. The Tiny Away Escape resort offers island living with true domestic comfort-in robust container rooms. Outside, you'll see industrial exteriors that feel straight out of Art Box, but inside, you can find interior designs inspired by Nordic and Japanese disciplines.

The standard occupancy for each tiny house is two adult guests-however, they accommodate up to three adults or two adults with two children. Plus, three of their tiny house rooms are pet-friendly!

Just be sure to book early in advance as there are only five tiny houses.

Getting to Lazarus Island from Singapore is straightforward and typically involves taking a ferry from the Marina South Pier, accessible via MRT.
