Bismarck Fire Department Responds to House Fire

The Bismarck Fire Department extinguished a fire at a single-family residence in the central part of town on Wednesday evening.

At approximately 8:20 PM on November 27th, 2024, the Bismarck Fire Department received a call for a structure fire at a single-family dwelling in the 300 block of north 15th St. Bismarck Fire crews were dispatched to the scene.

Firefighters arrived on the scene at 8:24 PM to find a single-story house with black smoke coming from the side door. Firefighters entered the home with charged hose lines through the side door. Once inside, they found heavy smoke conditions on the main level. Fire crews located the fire in the kitchen area involving the stove and cabinets, and quickly put it out. Additional fire crews searched the house and confirmed that everyone was evacuated. During the search numerous pets were found and they were safely removed from the house. Once the fire was out an overhaul operation was conducted to find and extinguish any smoldering materials.

No injuries were reported to the occupants of the home or firefighters.

The fire damage was contained to the room of origin, while there was smoke damage throughout the rest of the house. A fire investigation was conducted, and the cause was determined to be accidental.
